2025 AFCONQ: I was ‘dead’ after Sudan loss – Otto Addo

Ghana coach Otto Addo said he felt “dead” after the team’s defeat to Sudan in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The Black Stars suffered a significant blow in their bid to qualify, losing 2-0 to the Falcons of Jedaine at the Benina Martyrs Stadium in Benghazi, Libya on Tuesday.

The loss, which extended Ghana’s winless run to four games, leaves Otto Addo’s side third in Group F with two points.

“To be honest, the last two days [After Sudan match], I was dead,” Addo said in an interview with GFA media.

“But now, I got a lot of positive feedback and a lot of support from family, friends and this is the time I need them.

“And this brought me back on track and very important for us to think ahead to try as much as possible to win the last games.”

The Black Stars face Angola and Niger in their final two qualifying matches, needing maximum points to keep their slim hopes of qualifying for next year’s continental event alive.

Angola have already secured their spot with 12 points, while Sudan, currently in second place, only need a draw from their remaining two games to book their place.
